Abstract
This study analyzed distribution of government employees and pension recipients focusing on ages and projected the future distribution of those using simulation methods. The results showed that aging of government employees and pension recipients has been under way and severe aging process will be continued for the next 30 years in approximate. This situation would give strongly influence on the financial problems of the government employees¡¯ pension system. The study also examined the discussions related to government employees¡¯ pension reform which was the most popular way to deal with the problems due to the aging of government employees. The results showed that obvious patterns of aging of government employees and their rapid aging would be continued for next 30 years. Although there would be reversed aging trend, as relatively younger employees will be bigger part of the government employees. Afterwards, aging would continue to progress at a steady pace by year 2050. Accordingly, financial soundness of government employees¡¯ pension would be jeopardized by steep aging curve until year 2050, the time that the again of government employees would become stabilized. Current pension reform plan would help resolve the financial problems caused by rapid aging of the government employees. However, in the future, as aging process has been underway, more rigorous reform for government employees¡¯ pension system is needed.
